**Domain:***Experiments outside of the lab*

It was clear from our observations that the restrictions on the lab use and which chemicals the students was allowed to use posed a problem. Not only did the restriction on the use of the lab result in important teaching time and experiments beeing lost, but the ever more strict regulations regarding what chemicals are allowed to be used in experiments, means a lot of very inseightful experiments are no longer able to be used in education.

Another thing that was very clear was the lack of time. In general there was rarely enough time for the students to complete all assignments. Being inspired by the mobile game Little Alchemist, a possible solution could be a game where the children where able to combine different elements to see what reaktion would take place. another possibility would be the ability to save you progress/experiments so that the children could easily with no time investment return to it later. Doing experiments the normal way, has it's pros, however if we look at the time it takes to set up all remedies for an experiment takes a lot of time, which there is already a lack of.

#### Periodic table
#### Periodic table
**Domain:***Substitute teacher dosn't have access to any material and can't help the students*
**Technology:***Interactive periodic table*
Looking a the problems that occur when the teaching is done by a substitute teacher, it was clear that the fact that the substitute dosn't have access to the material had a disrupting affect. The children had a hard time getting help and the focus was greatly reduced. Our idea was to design something, that provided indirect teaching, something that they could experiment with in different ways and thereby gain some knowlagde of the field.

We thought about making a Interactive periodic table, which lets the children explore the elements, their composition of neutrons, protons and electrons, where they are found, what they are used for, and also how they can be combined into know molecules - like sugar.

#### Lack of reason
**Domain:***lack of reason why*
**Technology:***digital lab and digital experiments*
A piece of software that includes both the theoretical knowledge concerning the experiments and a place to write the report. The theoretical part should include a lot more examples/perspective to real life and inform why a certain chemical Reaction happens. An example from our observations was an experiment where the students had to test to see how much protein a certain type of food contained. A deeper understanding of why proteins are important and what they are used for in the body was not given in the material/by the teacher.
A software that may included pop-ups with knowledge etc could give that last piece of needed information.
#### lack of "the why"
**Domain:***lack of understanding/the why*
**Technology:***movement tracking*
Since the school put a great effort in making multidisciplinary subjects a combination of physics and sports using tracking of movement would make sense. It could be both in sprint/throwing/jumping etc. It would be possible to see how different angles affected the throw and get back to the lab to process the measurements. It could give a greater understanding of the physics behind any kind of movement.
The initial concept was a chemistry experiment in the lab, which we relabelled to an interaction with a toilet. The chemistry experiment included acid, test-tubes, different liquids and a recipe on how to execute the experiment. In the toilet it is also possible to mix different fluids and either when a person is done/something went wrong it is possible to flush everything out at start over. The toilet paper may symbolize the equipment. When it is out of reach it will become very difficult to succeed with the “experiment”.

Our first extreme character was a grumpy granddad, whose eyesight was really bad, he was not very agile, which meant that things should be within his reach, things should be the way they always had therefore he could definitely not manage too much change.
A software that may included pop-ups with knowledge etc could give that last piece of needed information.
Our next character to get into the toilet seat was Tony Stark from the superhero movie Iron Man. He is a jet-set kind of guy, whose IQ is probably higher than his amount of money. That means that he does not seem satisfied with some middle-class toilet, which is old, dirty and probably lacks features. If that happened, he would probably build his own toilet with plenty of features, comfort etc.
#### Our extream choice - lack of "the why"
He does not mind having some time to think about/test all the features while he is doing his thing. When he has finally tried all the features it bores him to use that toilet and therefore, he must invent/find a new smart toilet. The toilet must give him specific details about his.
