Propulsion Motor current draw

Drobotti V.2 has been confirmed to use Polulu Brushed DC Motor 37Dx73L : https://www.pololu.com/product/4756

The motor has a maximum current draw of 5.5A @ Stall.

The Arduino Motor Shield Rev.3 uses an L298 Motor driver (https://www.st.com/en/motor-drivers/l298.html#overview), which:

  1. Allows for a maximum current draw pr. channel of 2A (Total 4A for both)
  2. Holds no internal over current protection

The PiPlates MotorShield is based on TB6612FNG Motor driver (https://pi-plates.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/TB6612FNG.pdf), which:

  1. Allows for a maximum current draw of 1.2 A on average, 3.2 A peak.
  2. Holds no internal over current protection

As such, in order to avoid damaging the hardware on the Desktop Robotti V.2, new motor drivers is needed.
